Book review-the effect (the consolidation of Psychology), Robert Cialdidi

"Affect", the consolidation of classic book explains why people say "Yes" to psychology and how these interpretations.

Dr. Robert Cialdini is a rapidly expanding influence and the consolidation of the debut of the expert. His thirty-five years of rigorous, evidence-based research with the research of the three-year program, which moves people to the problem has led to the development of this highly acclaimed. You will learn the six principles to be trained in their use of universal persuader and how to defend yourself against them. Perfect for people of all levels of Government, the "influence" of the principles of the profound personal change and move you to help you succeed in the Act of driving.

The book is divided into five main chapters: "Reciprocation, commitment and consistency,", ",", "Social proof", "Mind", "authority" and "Scarcity". Together, they form the Cialdini's "weapons of influence". Each chapter has been delivered to these "weapons" in the society, the width of the illustrative loads.

For example, the chapter, the reader upkeep shall be adopted in accordance with the examples of collectible dollar bills, Naughty children, personal weapons, in the Soviet Union, the juries, vary, $ 3.3 million dollars for a TV show in the Poseidon Adventure, and more. At the end of each chapter, the Cialdini to teach the reader to identify when each of the "influence" of a gun could be affected by the decision, and how we react accordingly.

As I have said, there are many great examples of that. How does a car travelling salesman who sent each month for 13,000 each month for the two types of cards with a card saying, "I like you". People belonging to this? The short answer is "Yes"!He made more than $ 200,000 a year, car sales.

Or how the story of how the Chinese were American prisoners of the Korean war, they betray their country by setting the essay questions for the commitment and cosistency of power?.

My Verdict:

Many of the books on this theme and this is without doubt the best and many other genre base.

This book shows how to let the auto-pilot for the majority of allowing us to influence the judicial exploited by the hour.

This book shows us how to use technology, but how the security measures of the other using us ourselves.

Reads very well, but in General, it can be overwhelming, going places.

I have a 4.5/5 and recommend it.

The Trauma Treatment Handbook: Protocols Across the Spectrum

by

Robin Shapiro

What a great book. Plainly written, packed with information and resources, the author demonstrates an astonishing depth of knowledge, grasp of scores of trauma therapies, along with compassion and warm empathy for trauma survivors. All this underscored with a scientific objectivity and a lively sense of humor.

Not only does Shapiro present the reader with detailed guides to many types of therapy for helping people who've suffered a trauma (ranging from childhood abuse to sexual assault to car crashes to the terror of war) but there's a chapter for therapists ourselves for whom listening to the often heart-wrenching stories from clients is itself traumatic.

A rich choice of techniques for healing trauma provides the reader with clear guides to the familiar (e.g. psychodynamic theories developed from the musings of Freud) to less common or unusual therapies (such as Brainspotting and Dialectical Behavior Therapy).

For those of us not bathed in the holy waters of DSM -IV(Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) the author lists dozens of the acronyms that represent labels for many kinds of human distress, and the amazing variety of therapies to combat trauma in particular. (Shapiro ends this exhaustive two-page list with "WTF?: response to so many acronyms!")

The author (who already has two published books on the subject) describes EMDR [Eye Movement and Desensitization] in satisfactory detail and suggests that a better label would have been "reprocessing therapy" because it consists of BLS (bi-lateral stimulation). EMDR also "includes elements of mindfulness, somatic awareness, exposure, and cognitive therapies."

The "energy psychologies' with their ability to cure phobias in a single session, are given their due from the original TFT (Thought-Field Therapy) through EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), to TAT (Tapas Acupressure Technique) and the work of clinical psychologist David Feinstein who is "married to Donna Eden, the maven of energy medicine." (Which reveals my ignorance as I'd never heard of her).

In the chapter on hypnotherapy, Shapiro cleverly incorporates Ericksonian language that offers the reader a brief experience of hypnosis. Several hypnotic techniques for dealing with trauma illustrate the power of this approach. (Only Hypnotic Olfactory Conditioning is missing).

This book gives the therapist -- novice or experienced -- a massive choice of approaches to apply to a specific traumatized client. There are also specialized chapters on grief, the military and borderline personality disorders. Within each chapter and at the end of the text, are rich references for further learning.

Is The Me Generation The Cause For The Culture Of Excess?

IP is over the quota
IP is over the quota

When I thought of reviewing THE CULTURE OF EXCESS, my first thought was am I the right person for this book? It only took me a few minutes and pages to realize that I would be fine for this book because I found the book was so much more than what I had expected. Dr. J. R. Slosar for me, most importantly, wrote this book in a way that made it easy to follow and understand. His goal seemed, in some ways, not far off from what I had been trying to do in a classroom as a teacher for the last few years prior to my retirement, and that was to get those young people to understand that their self-indulgence was very harmful to them as well as society as a whole.

With our country in a financial crisis, we see the self-centered life style that has taken over most of our lives to be the cause of most our problems. As Slosar refers to the "Me" generation needing to work toward a "We" generation, he explains how this is at the root of our problems. From the economy being hit so hard to the lifestyles we live, this book addresses how this happened and what needs to be done to change this dangerous path we are on.

Dr. Slosar states, "The changes in development of today's youth are profound as the interaction of economic and social trends have dramatically affected self-control and how we define success." He goes on to talk about how the ideas in this book can stop and change what it is happening and how all of us can learn to make better choices and have more positive results.

I hadn't thought about this excess causing some of the problems discussed in the book. I could see the financial end of it where we as a society have come to want what we want and go about getting it with no regard to cost to ourselves or those around us. This translates to more than just possessions, although they are a huge part. It also has to do with the deadly rise in obesity in our country and when I sat back and thought about it, well, of course that makes sense! I thought about what he was saying about how that also has to do with other social and health issues including drugs, increase in unnecessary cosmetic surgery, and so many other mental health issues. As a teacher, I watched as year after year, students' home and psychological problems got worse and I wondered what was going on to make these children have such problems. The ME society! Think about it! It makes all the sense in the world.

Dr. Slosar understands what is creating this culture of excess and he uses so many excellent examples in real-life situations but also does it with wit and clarity thus making the reader understand and relate to what he is saying. He goes on to include descriptions as well as history that helps the reader to see the reason our society is in the mess we are in. The organization of the book into chapters that deal with first the "Cultural Narcissism" and go on from that explanation into chapters of examples that explain why things are they way they are is very easy to follow. The problems that arise from use of technology in such unhealthy ways are explained in a chapter Slosar titled "Digital Coping: Loss, Reality, and Self-Deception". The fact that he recognized the problems but rather than just write about what they are and how they happened, he also includes how they can be dealt with to give every one who reads the book a glimmer of hope that we can reverse this. His main targets for all these problems come from capitalism being out of control (no kidding!...but we do hate to admit it) to a "consumerism overload" to the forces of technology and media being main causes. The problems of taking risks and being so out of control as we continue to put so much into material things has not led us to contentment and good health. Therefore, he advocates, we must rethink what success really means and how we can get to that place. How we must allow government to be a solution to our problems and allow them to do their job properly especially in that deregulation has certainly not helped. Our health MUST get better and there is so much in this EXCESS that has made us so unhealthy in more than just obesity but also mental disorders. And finally parents MUST take more responsibility in raising their children and set boundaries for their behavior. Children honestly will flourish much better when they have order in their life and set guidelines and rules to go by.

The case studies and examples cited by Dr. Slosar are just more proof of what he has written about when it comes to peer pressure from children all the way up to adults. The pressure to have the "right labels" and "act the right way" lead to more mental problems and financial disasters than ever seen before. It is almost common sense that this has happened when you read this book and stop and look back at what may have happened to you personally and how it effects you and those around you. THE CULTURE OF EXCESS-How America Lost Self-Control and Why We Need to Redefine Success is a thought provoking must-read for those who want a better life and society for themselves and their children and want to be part of a "We" Society at last!

The Ponderings of a Master Key

IP is over the quota
IP is over the quota

The Master Key Course is a powerful source of information for learning, understanding, and applying the energy of thought in relation to shaping one's life. Many have used the knowledge shared in this book as a tool to change lives for the better. Popular teachings such as what is found in books like "Think and Grow Rich" by Napolian Hill and the far-famed movie "The Secret" are perfect examples of how interested people are in this is type of knowledge. Like "The Master Key System" they all point to the importance of focusing on improving mental thoughts as the ground level of improving the quality of life.

The Master Key System was written in 1912 by Charles F. Haanel, and it is considered the master key to understanding the concepts, principles, and practicality of choosing to think thoughts with intent to create desired outcomes.

As the course is a progressive learning system, it is warned not to read the book as a novel but to focus on one chapter a week. This is what the writer felt was best for those taking the course back in the early 1900's. Although some concepts such as meditation and visualization taught in this 1912 published book are more commonly accepted in today's time, the course is still valued with Haanel's insightfulness. As he uncovers basic principles, Haanel makes it easy to understand the logic of training our brain to think in a productive way.

As it is suggested to master this twenty four week course one week at a time, you may find one or a few of the lessons not taking the full seven days to master. In my personal experience I feel, regardless of how long each lesson takes to master, the importance is to keep the focus on progressive learning.

There are also cautions from skeptics for readers to consider careful examination rather than easily adapting to the information taught in this course. Haanel himself warns not to read the book as a novel, as well as for the student of this course to be committed to the life changing applications without fail. Those who are skeptical of the law of attraction's relevancy in both Haanel's day and modern day, warn that the teachings in this course can be dangerous. As in any case when many perspectives are present, it is best to acknowledge disputes and ultimately think for one's self.

The Master Key System can be read as suggested in a way for progressive learning or it can be read like a novel in simply getting to know the material of what the author is sharing. The warning not to read this course like a novel can easily be understandable when considering it as a course for introducing new concepts and most likely unheard of reasons to consider thoughts as a core measure of shaping lives in the early 1900's.

In my opinion this book is an excellent source of information. I have found it to personally enhance understandings of spiritual perspectives. It has awakened the senses and stimulated necessity for application. However as I stated earlier, anyone reading this book should think for themselves in how to respond to the information shared in it.

Why am I getting started

Have you ever wondered why some people and organization are more innovative, and more profitable than the other? Simon Sinek delves into Why some companies command more loyalty from customers and employees, and what these managers have a common hienoudet and destinations on the Web.

"Why" of why certain individuals and companies unearths were able to inspire them in their commitments to achieve the things around. Simon studied at the leaders, who had the most influence in the world and found that they all think, Act and communicate in exactly the same way, and it is completely contrary to the "all other" die and does. He shows how great leaders inspire all of the action. Simon discovered the "Golden Circle", which lays down the blueprint, which the organisation has built a powerful concept, can be part of the movement and the people are inspired by.

Simon Sinek reveals that most of the Organization to tell you what to do and how things are made, but very few definitively explain why they do what they are doing. Simon digs deeply into why people are some of the leaders of the Organization, and, and not two, of the working place. The book follows naturally occurring patterns. The common thread is that the sweet life, the size of the pages in the "start with why", in particular in a certain way of thinking, and communication, some of the leaders of the ability to inspire those around them.

The book is written in such a way that it may be you can think deeply why you do what you do, and whether you can really believe in yourself, cause or purpose. To understand why you do what you can to do to improve yourself and your own reason to believe what you believe, and to inspire others to believe. If you do not know why you do what you can do, how to do it anyone know? It is not just a book, which is based on, is the book that you "think outside the box" and controls the road to success. It is a journey of discovery and it takes a little practice, but it should also be an analysis of the itsetarkkailua.

That was when so many companies are struggling to keep ahead of the package, it is essential now more than ever, to understand why you are doing what you are doing. To understand this simple, yet effective, quality, improved, how you do business with, and how you can inspire others to take action.

We have enjoyed reading the book and give it a final "thumbs up" to persons and entrepreneurs, or anyone who wants to progress in their personal development and their business.
